4.2 timing belt question?
Hey guys,
I just had my timing belt done by someone other than my usual guy and i wanted to find out if there were any methods for confirming that it was done correctly by merely opening the timing belt covers and looking for certain aspects.
when the engine is off; do the two cam sprockets (i guess is what they are called - the things that the cam lock bar has to be hooked up to) have to perfectly face each other with the bigger or smaller holes on the inside? things of that nature are what i am inquiring into to verify that it was done right (without being too mechanically proficient).
any help would be great.
the car is a 2000 4.2 and i got the JHM timing belt kit.
Thanks.
