Default 4.2 vs 2.7t....body parts!!!

Hey again,

Are the fenders the same on both the 2.7t and the 4.2?

I ask because Ive seen pics of the 4.2 having different side skirts than the ones on the 2.7t and if the fenders are the same Id like to do an oem swap because I love the way they look (and the person who had it before me mustve lived on a gravel road cause they are banged up a bit)

Thanks all!

I have a 2.7t and I am not aware of a visual differece between it and the 4.2 but then againI did not know there had different side skirts. A good move would be to find pics of the two cars and have a look

The 4.2 has larger fender flares (wide body) and a longer nose...it would be quite a job to switch over. ABD racing did a conversion, you might contact them and see what it took to do it. http://www.abdracing.com/project/audir6/index.html

Hey, thanks for the confirmation Slee (even though im now sad).

Looks like ill just ad the lower door moldings instead (door blades), cant afford a full conversion.

it is only an inch longer in the front to accomodate the V8. The fenders are indeed different however.

The doorblades look really nice and they'll stillgive it a seemingly wider look.

How do those get mounted anyways? Is it a swap for a bodyshop to do, or could I do it myself?

It's a simple swap.
1) Remove the two screws from the inside of each door.
2) Slidethe stockblades off.
3) Clean behind the blades.
4) Install the new pieces in reverse and repeat three times.
