4.2l power revolution
Hi I am new to the forum. Last night I was on here for the first time. A/W was down so I decided to check other sites. I read for a while and didn't post. After thinking about it I decided to sign up and share. Here is a video of me racing my friends well tuned B6 S4 thought that a few of you guys might enjoy it and also know that there are parts out there for the 4.2 that can help
Thanks enjoy
4.2 Vs. 4.2
Thanks enjoy
4.2 Vs. 4.2
Cool Vid..Could you post more information about your car and its mods/stats/numbers. How much was the total conversion and what kind of work can the shop do without an engine swap? Several of us 4.2 owners know they are untapped beasts but there just isn't enough market space to manufacture and design aftermarket performance parts. Thanks in advance and welcome to the forums!!
Thanks for all the kind words.
I haven't gone to the Dyno but I would guess that the car makes over 400hp. That's what every ont the knows the 4.2L is saying
The 4.2 is completely untapped and I am going to see how far we can go with it
As for parts other than the motor and Exhaust I thought my 2 biggest gains came from the Electric fan and the intake spacers.
The fan blade that sits on the front of the motor weights like 6 lbs when that came off you could feel the difference in the response
right now as far as I know the available parts are
02's (I know that is not performance but they are like 100$ cheaper than the dealer)
intake spacers
EFK the electric fan
open intake
As for chips I know that the VAST/GIAC chip works great for my motor. It was a night and day difference when I got the tuning done.
I have all the work done at a place called VAST performance in Detroit I know everyone says this but they are super cool and have IMHO the best line up of products and cars....My car is a clone of there 4.2l shop car they also have a
800 WHP 2001 S4
400 WHP 92(ish I'm not sure) corrado
400 WHP 2000 a6 (they have more done to there car than me)
Here is a dyno of one of there turbo kits on a S4 Vast turbo kit on a WMS car
My car is not done I am going to try and see how much more I can get out of it
I don't know what else they might have but you can E mail them. Try kurt@vastperofrmance.com
I will keep you guys posted on my car
