Default AWD Differential Problems *Please help*

I just bought a 99 A6 quattro. Im new to this set up nd bought the car with a few miles already at an auction. I did expect some minor problems, but here is the big one:

THe car has 80k miles. When you stear the car completly to either left or right the whole car shakes like an SUV or a Truck with 4wd turned on.

So is that a big problem? do they all do this? Is the AWD controlled eletronicly at any point? do these cars have a limited slip differential? any maintanance required or recomended for a audi with that many miles?

sorry for posting so many questions at once guys, but this is really getting me worried.
thanks
marcus

Hi, I am new to Audi myself. From what I have found searching the board since mine does the same thing as yours, but not as severe is it COULD be that not all the tires have the same wear. I know my front tires have about 1/3 more tread than the rear ones. Since my tires are shot anyways, I will be getting new ones soon. My car has 114k on it. You should also consider having your transmission fluid changed, (not flushed) just drained, filter changed and filled.

Good luck.

Mine does it too...only at 5mph and less when cornering all the way left or right. It is the quattro system. It should be a very slight grabbing feel. If it is really really noticeable I would talk to your mechanic/dealer.
