Default '95 A6 Transmission problem

Posting for a co-worker of mine. Seems he blew a fuse while trying to repair his cruise control and now the automatictransmission wont shift out of first gear (reverse and park work ok too). Anyone know if there is a transmisson control module and where it might be? Any suggestions of other things to check or try?

Thanks
-Tim

I don't know how to fix it, but I know when a fuse blows, the car puts itself into "safe mode" or "limp home mode" where it will only shift between 1st and 2nd. I don't know how this is fixed, because my next move is to take it to a mechanic. When this happens, there are (should be) codes which can be read.
