I'd check the operation of the fan directly connected to the battery.
If does not work-replace it!

BTW- how many fans you have =>3 fans - front fan (AC), behind the radiator, engine fan (belt driven)?

Are the other fans operational?

There is fan control module - operates both AC and radiator fans, 2 relays for the radiator fan (low, high speed), and radiator fan thermo-switch.

Bentley would help, but could be deceptive on details and the particular application.

Search "radiator fan" on the forum.

Do not buy used fan as the prices are based on the dealers list.

Check ECS tuning for info - price and part #.

Be aware one could use VW fan - very inexpensive - replacing the connector with original one.

One should not pay more than $70 for new fan.

Potential fan problems -

Switch/sensor in bottom of radiator-
Bad fans -
Bad ground-
Bad relays -
Blown fuse -

You need to be a detective to fix -
1. Try turning the AC on - if the fan works it is the sensor. If not it – keep looking.
2. Pull the connector off the sensor and run a jumper between the terminals. Try different combinations of the three wires. Two should be one fan and two fans running. If nothing works keep looking.
3. There are 2 relays are in the box under the hood -left side – one fan speed and two fans running.
Follow this to see how to check them:
https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=151782

4. Time to get dirty. The fans are connected to a ground on the left front and a terminal block under the left front fender. Check the ground. Then remove the wires from the terminal block and run a live jumper to each of the wires – if they don’t work ya need new fans.
5. Finally the fuse – it is in the right passenger’s foot well behind the kick panel on the right side. You will need to loosen the sill plate at the door to get the panel off. And find the fuse.

The probability is 45% sensor - 45% fans and 10% other.
Get used fans a new sensor from Force Five.

Default does anyone use these boards anymore?

Replacing relay in the #2 position (in fuse box under hood on driver's side - USA) got both my fans to run when A/C is on. (Neither had been running prior to testing and replacing this bad relay.

I've now replaced the thermal switch at the bottom driver's side radiator.

There are no bad fuses in floorboard, end of dashboard or under hood.

Neither fans will run unless A/C is on.

Is there another relay I should check to see if it's gone bad?
