I have a 96 A6 Avant. The security system no longer will arm for me (no chirp, no alarm when I lock with remote inside the car then open the door). I have had to replace needle switches in the doors in the past, but they are all working and the dome light comes on and off for all the doors. The trunk light also comes on and off (but I can't seem to switch). I have also heard there is a switch on the hood but I can't seem to find that either. Are they codes I can read in VAG.COM that will help? Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? Thanks to all.

 

If you have a vag-com, the alarm is under either central electronics or central locks.
