so doudle check the back of the VC gaskets. the camshaft tensioner gaskets and half moons should be good to go then right?

Its also possible you didn't get the cam seals in correctly, but its more likely its the VC gasket, they are really flimsy and its easy to get them twisted or pinched when putting the valve cover back on.
