Default 99 2.8L Quattro Timing belt and water pump cost! Too Good to be true???

whats up. i have a 99 a6 2.8L quattro. Major coolant leak. Lost a gallon of antifreeze in 3 days. Took the car into pepboys this morning to find the source of the leak. Found out the water pump is finally on its way out. i have around 87,000 miles so i knew this day was coming. so at pep boys, the total for timing belt and water pump replacement with labor came out to be $1800 bucks. Damn! i could have went to the stealership and atleast i would have got a free car wash! but anyways i walked out and i think i scored a better deal. I ordered the timing belt kit from ECS tuning for 338.36 and a local legit audi shop will charge me $732.00 for labor, For a grand total of... $1070.36 with a savings of $730.36 if i went to pep boys and god knows how much if i would have went to the dealer. does this kind of savings sound too good to be true or is this right around the ballpark pricing. Thanks guys

For an indy shop that seems about right. My indy quoted me around $1000 - 1100 for the entire job including parts, so your figure is right on the money.

Nobody ever claimed it was cheap to own an Audi!
