Default are a4 headlights interchangable with our A6s?

Hello all, this is my first post. I am new to Audis! I bought a 99 A6 as a daily driver and would like to fix some things on it. First are the headlights. Mine are sun baked and need to be replaced.

-First question is do the A4 lights fit ours? (I tried to search this with no luck)
-where is the best place to find parts for our cars, both new and used?

Thanks in advance for the help,
Bob

I don't belive so because it is a completely diffrent model.

I saw an ebay post for an a4, a6 headlight for sale but I wouldn't try it. I would say ebay is a good place to look I saw an newer C5 headlight for $85 for a buy it now price and it was an HID one to, thats pretty cheap. Don't know if you have HID's or not but the bulb sockets are not the same so don't buy an HID's headlight if you don't have them.

My car is non-HID, but I was thinking of adding them. I have done some reading and see that you can use the facelift model lights with some modification, so I might go that route if I can find a nice used set. Are there after market options for headlight housings? I see folks referring to halo lights for their A4s, is there something like that available for the A6?

Not that I know of, never sen a halo headlight for an A6.

I do know that there is a mod for removeing the amber piece in the corner to make it all clear.

I have a problem with the fog Lights on my 99 A6.

When I bought it they were missing, the place was supposed to get them for me. Before that happened, I wrecked the bumper in a parking lot (big change pulling in coming from a Town Car to an A6). So, that got put on the back burner for awhile. I think I'm gonna get the bumper fixed soon so I went and picked up the Fog Lights.

They appear to be from a junk yard (the way they are tagged makes me think that) and the are marked for an 2000 A6. They look like these ones Audi A6 C5 ProjectorFog Lights. I don't see how these would ever fit in the plastic inserts that go in the bumper. The holes are tiny!

These look more like they would fit Audi A6 C5 (4B) Valeo Front Fog Light OE 1998-2001 NEW . But it says they go up to 2001! And it looks like the 2000's won't fit for me.

Is this another case of the pre/post facelift where there are different parts?

my headlights were the same way man. yellow, sand blasted.. like BAD.. but i was able to clear them. takes alot of work, but i used 360 grit wet sand paper for like 30 min. then re did them with 1200 grit, then re did it again with 1500 grit. after that i just used a cutting compound and a buffer, then a finishing compound with the buffer... looks good as new man!
