A6 1.9 PD engine vs allroad 2.5
HI guys,
Last time I posted I was in IL and running a 98 A6 2.8 quatro wagon.
Well I moved back to UK and I'm roaming round in a golf with the PD 130 engine and it's a great motor with the 6 speed box.
Car is aging though and 130k, plus I want more space.
Option 1. What are your thoughts on the 1.9 PD lump I the A6? Is it weak for a car that size?
I'm finding 100k cars for the right money, but worried about it being gutless or thrashed.
Option2. I could go with an A6 with the 2.5 TDI, but they seem to all be crazy high mileage
Option 3. My alternative is the 2.5 in the allroad, shocking fuel economy compared to the 1.9 PD but I only do 6-8K/year.
BUT, there are loads of scare stories about the air suspension (which I like the sound of air ride) and I would need to find manual as the tiptronic seems like a nightmare waiting to happen.
What do you think guys?
