A6 2.7T me likey, me want!!
Just a random thought I didn't see anything posted on the subject, but has anyone done work with the gearing ratio i.e. lowering them. In the Z groups it was almost common for a Twin Turbo owner to replace the TT gearing ratios with the bottom end of a Non-Turbo Z which turned the car into a monster. I never got to attempt it with my Z but I recall you loose your top end (I don't do 160mph anyhow) but you accelerate like a madman. And most importantly since it was somewhat of a common practice it wouldn't cost you an arm and a leg trying to be the first guy to attempt something so foolish =)
Thanks alot guys for all of the helpful information. I didn't expect such a warm and helpful welcome for a curious newbie.

I have no info on changing the gearing ratio . In theory, it would allow to shave some time off the 1/4 mile run. It does require knowledge and sounds expensive/difficult (maybe it's not!) I don't know anyone that did it.
Not to get off the subject of AUDIs but I just wanted to say HI to another Z guy on the AUDI forum!! I just recently purchased a 2001 Audi A6 2.7t for my wife. The car is awesome. We really like the car alot. Lots of fun to drive. Just hope it ends up being as reliable & fun as my Z has been through the years. Anyway for those interested, here is a link to my website where you can check out pics of the A6 & 1993 300zxTT. Thanks.
