On average how much MPG do you get mixed? My car is getting just 250 miles on a full tank and that seems way too low...any ideas what the problem could be?

 

I track my mileage as miles/gallons and average 19-20 around town and consistently 23-25 on the highway 70-75. A little worse in real cold winter weather. I generally expect to get 375-400 miles per tank on the highway as long as I drive it conservatively. Now if you're just driving around town and accelerating hard, you could be getting 15 mpg which works out to 15 * 18 = 270 miles per tank. Voila.

Drive it around for mpg and you should see that number go up. If not I am sure you have an issue. Mine always does that when leaving the gas station as well. 250-300MPG on a full tank goes up to around 400 give or take pending on my driving.

 

Mixed I get about 300 miles per tank...today going to work the gas light came on but the range said 30 miles after work the range was 0 miles, doing some math I noticed that I just got about 12mpg just city...I put in 4 gallons and the gas light came on right away and the ranged showed up as 30 miles meaning less than 10mpg now could it be a gas tank sensor problem? I did a test over 40 miles and noticed I was getting about 17mpg mixed
