Default A6 2.7TDi Clutch advice

Hi All

I have an Audi A6 2.7Tdi early 2006. Its only got 53k miles but the clutch judders, especially when cold, theres no slip but I get the feeling it won't be long before it goes.

I have heard stories of Duel Mass flywheel failure and the like which can be very expensive to repair.

As we have just replaced the front discs and pads (not cheap), and now the tax is due I am considering my options.

Do I
1. Sell it and buy a smaller cheap to run car (we only do about 5k in it a year)
2. Get the clutch done
3. Hope for the best and wait till the clutch goes completely before having replaced.

Does any one have budget figure for the clutch / flywheel replacement.

Finally, it needs 4 new tyres as well, they are 245/45zr18 extra load - any ides, assuming we keep it where to get a good deal.

Any other advice would be very welcome.

Cheers
