slipping clutch advice?
you can baby the clutch till you can afford an upgrade, and it'll last for a pretty long time (mine has been slipping for about a year now) but the more the clutch slips the more you'll damage your flywheel. so if you dont dick around and run your car hard and never get on the gas enough for your clutch to slip you'll be fine.
as for what to buy, that depends on your future modding plans. if your not upgrading your turbo a stock or stage2 clutch will be best. if your going BT within a year get a stage3 or higher, if your going BT in the distant future just get a stock or stage2 clutch for now cause you'll probly burn out the stage 3 clutch in the next couple years

I had a 96 A4 2.8 and my clutch slipped for a year until one night I downshifted trying to show off and ... I replaced it with a stage II clutch from Spec. It was (and still is) far too much clutch for the car. Even after doing a snub mount it's way too sticky and rough to drive in the city (and makes me waste more gas). I'd only recommend it for those who will be launching every rip. Oh, yeah take heed to the advice about the flywheel. If you continue to drive it on a bad clutch you may hurt the flywheel to the point where it's mandatory that you replace it. If you replace the clutch before it goes you may be able to salvage the flywheel by just having it cut. If you do a clutch that's stonger than stock make sure to replace your motor mounts and trans mounts to hold the excess torque and keep the engine from lifting. I made that mistake also and snapped my downpipe and trans mount.

I put a stage 2 on my car, it holds better then my last clutch by far, and really the pedal feel is almost the same. Dont wait too long though, cause as everyone has said, you will ruin your flywheel once the clutch wears down, you will have metal on metal contact and you will evidently ruin your flywheel to a point that it cant be resurfaced. And if you want to save money, you will resurface it and not buy a new one!just a thought.
