Default A6 2.8 Quattro Transmission in Limp Mode

Hi does anyone know how to reset the transmission? I have done a fluid and filter service and gears don't change past 2nd gear. Reverse and 1-2 is good.

Really appreciate your assistance.

If you have the Ross-Tech/VCDS software you can check and clear any trouble codes that may be stored in the TCM. If your car is in limp mode there is an obvious problem that needs to be addressed. If you don't have access to any diagnostic equipment, a trip to the dealer or some other Audi service center will probably be required to have the issue addressed or diagnosed.

Thank you for your reply. My transmission started to slip because it had old fluid in it which I have since changed for a fully synthetic Castrol ATF blend. The old oil was black and there was a fair bit of sludge in the bottom of the pan and magnets. I will try and download software from the source you suggested and hope for the best. I will let you know what the outcome is.
