hello everyone

This morning i was driving and stopped at a traffic light put the car in P, and the epc light came on and the gear was stuck in Park it could not move, i towed it to a mechanic shop and he checked it with the computer and the diagnosis result came out to be Transmission Range Sensor (Control unit for Automatic Transmission), anyway i left it there and came back and read on this forum that there is a white switch under the cigarette ash try in front of the gear which is like a reset button, i pressed it and the gear worked fine and the car was driving normally with no EPC light so i took it home, i turned of the car three times to check and the gear still worked fine, you think this is a temporary fix? or it is fine to keep driving as there is no EPC sensor on the gear is working fine after i pressed the white reset button, any help would be appreciated, thanks.
