I have a A6 3.0 Q with 139000 miles. Today while driving the car it shut off. Tried to restart but it didn't. Had car towed to shop ,The timing belt has not been replaced nor has the water pump. the shop tested the compression and 3 out of the six were low. 30 ,30 ,90. the timing belt was intacked and no leakage of coolant . Last week the low oil pressure light came on , after an oil change. Oil level was good, and replaced oil pressure sensor. The shop that has done all the work now has no clue was caused the problem and what is wrong. Help!!!!

 

the timing belt has not been changed? ever?! low compression on three of six cylinders? shop doesn't know what the problem is?

well, timing belt may have skipped a tooth. it would still be intact, just off. that would cause...possibly bad things.

low oil pressure was probably just the sensor. mine does it from time to time and I'm just too lazy to replace it (I even have the sensor!) but not something that should be overlooked.

my money is on a timing issue.

the timing belt was never changed ever. the car does not run. Do not even know if it is worth to fix. Just put new cats on it and a new rack. This sucks.
