A6 4.2 Mod Rundown....
I'v been lurking around for sometime andfigured I needed to start posting....
OK here goes the inital mod. list (in noparticular order) for my newly purchased 2002 A6 4.2,
1.) GIAC Chip
2.) GIAC Tip. Chip
3.) Millteck Cat-back Exhaust
4.)K&N Drop-in Air Filter
5.) H&R Coilovers
6.) 19" RS6 Replica Wheels
Well let me know what you all think and if anyone has some thoughts on the overall performance (true hp) increases I can expect from this setup that would be even better!!! Happy motoring!

you won't get much horsepower form these mods on anon FI engine but I think your thottle will be more direct and react quicker. If I had to guess, and I am no expert on the 4.2, I would say 15-20hp.
Love the wheels you picked, might get a set myself.
Coilovers are nice but pricey, I would just get shocks and springs unless yuo NEED c/o.
How many miles?

4.)K&N Drop-in Air Filter - Negligible gains
5.) H&R Coilovers - Go with lower springs/shocks until you can afford PSS9s; the adjustable dampeners are worth the extra couple hundred dollars.
6.) 19" RS6 Replica Wheels - The RS6s in the 9-spoke variety are nice

Just out of curiosity if you do end up going with the Rs6 side sills to replace your door blades do you want to sell them to me? Also I would go with shocks and springs insted of C/O because unless you live in a place where it snows or you track it how often will you change the suspension.

Be careful with the VAST tip chip. I had to return my stg3, running now their Stg3 with small issues and waitign for a revised stg3. NAother member here has issues and has been waiting for this over a month. Throws a cel and goers into limp mode. There is an encryption issue I think. They are working on it. Good customer service.

I second the VAST over the GIAC you are waisting your money on the GIAC.
The 4.2 tip and ecu chips are all good as far as I know.
The 03+ cars Vast (from what I understand) is having encription bord TCU innerface issues. They said they are working on it. If I am correct the stage 2 chips are ok but thestage 3 are not able to comunicate.But I think this is why no other company makes a tip chip for the 03+cars.
