Default A6 Avant 1.8T Stange noise (video) HELP please

Hi guys and girls,

I have a very annoying issue with my car which started a couple of months ago. Not getting worse or better. Hoping somebody here would have an idea or two please.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CUMpEQp5-w

Car garages I have visited just want me to leave them with the car for a couple of hours. So thats £100 gone straight away!

I suspect the noise is coming from the catalsyst or exhaust perhaps heatshiled. The sound certainly comes from that location anyway. This irratating noise only happens under low revs (pulling away etc) and not constant once moving only initially.

Any help would be gratefully received!

Thanks,
Chris.

Sounds like metal vibrating up against another metal piece, I hope someone is able to help!

Hi,

Just thought I would do the descent thing and post what the noise issue actually was turbo waste gate flapping loose/hanging off. Turbo is out for a fix and cleanup. Should be good as new and quite soon!

Thank you to all those who replied and offered their assistance. Very much appreciated.

Chris
