Could someone point me to a link that explains how to remove the driver side door panel of my 2000 A6 4.2 Quattro.

hi there. well im not so sure about the 2000 model , but if its anything like the 96 model, then its tricky, i almost destroyed mine in the process. it dosent clip out ,it lifts to the top, but theres one screw hidden nicely away , i think its behind the door opening lever,or the switch panel,the key is , dont be in a rush when you do it, theres usually also all sorts of foam pieces that fall out when the panel comes off which is rather tricky to get back in their posisions when you put it back.

 

Its different than the older a6 and much easier. On the sides at the top there are phillips head screws. One front and one rear. Remove those and then just lift the door panel upward. Once it goes up a couple of inchs you will be able to pull it away from the door. A couple connectors and a door handle cable later the panels off.
