A6 Passenger door locked up

A6 Passenger door locked up
The front passenger door on my 1998 A6 Auto is locked shut and won't open on either the remote or by using internal or external handles. All other doorlocks are working as normal. Since I can't open the door I can't get the trim off to have a look at the lock inside. Will I just have to destroy the trim to get to it or has anyone else a good idea? Any suggestion gratefully received. Thanks.

I'm sure there has to be a better way than this....but it would be my guess.
Take a small screw and screw it into the top of the door lock "button", the object that goes up and down on every door when you lock/unlock. Then pull the button up and the door should be unlocked. That plastic button has to be cheap to replace compared to a door panel.

wow....this is a new one, and it sounds like trouble.
I'm just curious: have you tried to unlock the door via key with the battery disconnected and still didn't work?
If it didn't, then the cylinder lock got busted somehow; tough break. You may have to take the car to a specialized auto locksmith.
