I am in the market for either an S4 or an A6, I have about $15k to spend. What is considered to be the best A6 in that price range. From what I read it seems as thought the 2.7T is the most favorable A6. I do not plan on doing any mods to the car other than wheels and tires at some point, and maybe lower the car depending on the wheel size. So please give your opinions on the A6. Also would you prefer an S4 or an A6. The size of the car is not a factor. Thanks!

 

Well if it was me.....If I was only doing exterior mods, I would go with the 4.2. It is more reliable then the 2.7T. If your doing engine mods, the 2.7T is the hands down winner! They will tell you to stick with 18's on the A6 which I have no problem with although I went with 19's.

S4 or A6, once again, depends on what you want. The S4 is the staple car to modify. Its 2.7T motor is perfect for it, plus its a bit lighter and smaller. The A6 is larger, little more luxury and more comfortable.

If you don't plan on any engine mods, the 4.2 gets my vote.I also vote for the A6 over the S4. A used S4 has probably seen some agressive driving.
