Mine goes in the shop Monday! I'm getting an oil change and then new o2 sensors. I might go out and buy a drop in K&N filter as well, but I am considering cold air intake like the ITG from AWE tuning... Does anyone know what you do with the airbox once you install the intake?

Thats the advice I heard too, I really wasn't planning on it, but more of a thought. I have heard good things about the K&N though (doubt 15hp good), but I hear the turbos are more AUDIable

Sounds like things should be put together soon. Eager to hear what you have to say about the VAST TCU upgrade. Stage II?

Also, let me know how tight those tie-rods feel. I saw them on the VAST website... interested in them myself. Car is 6 years old now, not sure if the tie rods have been replaced yet...

Nowthe warranty says Tie Rod ends are not covered.. I guess they are considered wear items such as brakes, tires...
Gotta check though.

OK, so I got my car back yesterday. I still need to take it for an alignement monday since all the steering components were off and changed, I will get ,y S6 blades back Monday too.

The new control arms and RS6 tie rods make a huge difference, not only did the noises and vibrations are gone, but the car feels much tighter frmo just maneuvering in a parking lot to taking turns on the road. I have my old parts and there is soe much play in the control arms... Mostly one of the tie rods was real bad, rusted, flaking on the ball end and there was so much play it pulls out a little when you tug on it, and that caused the vibration when coasting or slowing down at 50mph.
So once I get the for end aligned and the steering wheel is actually straight when giong straight, it'll be great! it'll drive like an A6 should even a little tighter probably due to RS6 parts.

As for the VAST chip, I was on the road leaving GMP to go home for 10 minutes that the following happened.
I was doing 60mph on the Hwy in Drive. The car/tranny kindda jumped abruptly and all the gears lit up on the cluster gear display(PRNDS) and a cell came up. The car was stuck in one gear, 4th I think and would not down/up shift at all in Drive no matter how much I accelerated or slowed down. In addition, moving to TIptronic showed no result at all, no manual shifting available. Seems the car went into limp mode. I plugged my OBD2 scnanner (no VAG here) and the cel code was P0605.
So I did not get a chance to really test the Stage 3 improvement though I could tell it shifted up from 1 to 2 to 3 faster, but the engine was cold and I never push my car until it gets close to 175.
I talked to Prince at VAST and he shipped a replacement STAGE2 chip to get me going until he finetunes the stage 3 for my car. he says all cars react differently and the tune was probably too aggressive for my car's computer in seom setting. He says he knows what to adjust to finetune the stage 3 and make it work. So I'll have their stage 2 for a while until he ships the revised stage 3 chip. I think my shop GMP got the new stg2 chip and ia m goign to try and stop by today to get it switched.
I was a little disappointed as I have not had my car for a week and I was looking forward to driving it. Plus I am off today and my wife is working/volunteering at my kids school. she took my Jeep as her van is in the shop! So I am stuck home with my 2 1/2 yr old on my day off with an Audi stuck in 4th gear and and can't really drive it arond much, just to go to the shop later get the new Stg2 chip hopefully as I need the car this week-end.
But it is a new product and VAST is being cool about al this and really working with me as they have with other Tip Chip customers on Audiforums and here.
VAST has GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I cannot wait to het the stage 3 back on!

Gigi, I must say, you seem like the most patient and understanding person I have ever came across. I am sure you will have the car back and better than ever, soon enough.

Side note: you said that you will have to get the car re-aligned.

Does your car drive straight right now, even thought the steering wheel is not straight?

I recently had my mechanic replace/repair (not sure which one) my tie rod end. He said he aligned the car, which I believehe did,but the car's steering wheel is not straight. The car does drive straight although when I look at the steering wheel it's not straight.

What would remendy this? He said the would have to remove the stering wheel and column or something time consuming like that. Does this sound correct?

I wonder what the dealership would say???

Hope all goes well with the stage III tip chip.
