So between the two, which do you all think would be the best.

Is one year worse than the other, why is the nicer car with lower miles 2 grand cheaper?

FYI...model year DOES make a difference in price. 2002 vs. 2004, the 2004 will be more expensive, because it is 2 years "newer."

Just be aware that the 2002 will have a few things the 2004 is missing:
-prewiring for trunk-mounted CD changer (removed in 2003, although Symphony II has 6-disc changer built into headunit)
-passenger seat memory (removed in 2003)
-tiptronic buttons on steering wheel (removed in 2003)
Note:those BBS RC wheels are stock for the 2002 "sport" package, but those are not sport seats (in either car)...odd.

The 2004 will have the sport suspension (made standard in 2003) so slightly firmer ride. Most upgrade to H-sport sways for flat cornering anyway, and shocks/springs are also easily swapped out for aftermarket to the driver's desires.

Sport seats seem to be rather rare in the 2.7T's, even in the S-line. Even with the sport and premium packages, the seats were an additional option. My car also had the 17" BBS rims but no sport seats.

between those two cars I would go with the one with the best service history. In the long run, the small price difference will be worth knowing what has happened to the car in the past. Run carfaxs on both and if they still seem equal, then base it on how you like each after driving them.

Looking at the CARFAX reports (thanks to fellow forum member posting his user info for login) it looks like the 2004 is a 1-owner car in GA, vs. a leased vehicle now with a 2nd owner. I would follow daroshi's advice and see if you can take the VIN to a dealership to see if you can get the service history for the car. Might be codes only, but it would be a start.

I have 02 2.7t same color as daroshi's and mine has sport seats but doesn't haveBBS rims. It was bought as a Certified Audi two years ago. When I was buying it I could not find both, seats and rims, on one car and went for the seats instead and I don't regret. Rims are easier to clean and black leather seats look awesome and give you good support.
