STALLING.....and near death...
We have experienced our new 2 litre diesel A6 stalling at junctions and roundabouts, resulting in near misses with oncomming traffic.
We have told the dealer who claims it is a characteristic of the car! and does not show up as a fault therefore can't be corrected.
Surely no one should accept a dangerous feature and AUDI should recall ALL Audi A6 cars and warn new users of the inherent problem with the car. THe power steering shuts down and it takes several seconds to start the car whilst the oncoming traffic is bearing down on you.
Has anyone else experienced this and had an accident as a result of the problem?. Also can you provide contact names for us to tell and warn of the problem

Hi, Brian. I bought a 2009 A6 2.0 litre TDI last week and it's stalled on me 4 times. The 1st time was when I'd slowed down to turn a corner and it just locked up on me mid-turn. It's done it a couple of times when pulling away and today it did it at a junction as I pulled out in a right turn onto the road. Right now I'm thinking "Was I driving in the wrong gear?" Not like me, but it's possible that I was in 3rd instead of 1st, or 4th instead of 2nd. With a new car that drives completely differently from your last one it is a possibility, but from now on I'll be extremely aware of my gear position and hope that it's human error and not the car. Hope someone else can throw some light on this.
