Default A6 Wheels Tires

I am trying to dress-up my 2000 A6 and getting very confused on the right size wheels. Any help on the widest and correct offsets? I would love to run 18x9s but not sure what offsets. Man and I thought BMW was confusing....

Thanks all!

I am running 18X8, 43mm offset with 235/40/18 tires. I had to install 10mm spacer in the front to clear the tires from touching the control arm ends. I could have gotten away with 8mm. I am running 15mm spacers in the back for looks. It would have been fine without them but looks better IMO.

9 inch wide wheels may be slightly too wide. You can still fit 235/40 on that size wheels but may look dorifto. (Sometimes I like that look on smaller cars.) Compared to my 8 inch wide wheels, 9 inch wide wheel will reduce your inner clearance by about 13 mm. If you get 35 mm offset wheels, which are standard for Audi aftermarket stuff, at minimum you may need to run 10 mm spacers. Keep in mind that the wheel will stick out about 13 mm outside the fender edge.

Of course the numbers that I am giving here are all hypothetical estimation based on my 2001 A6 Avant. The actual fit will probably vary. Hopefully this gives you a reference point to start from.
