Hi, got an A6 2.7 tdi le mans avant and I have purchased a set of brushed Aluminium replacement casings for both wing mirrors.

I have done this mod previously on a 2003 model, but this is significantly harder having removed the glass and attempted it yesterday. There is a small light built into the bottom of the unit.

I have removed the 2 screws underneath, but it does't free anything up.

Does anyone have the process involved before I break something.

Before anyone asks, there were no instructions with the replacement caps
