Unhappy ABS Control Unit Issues!! HELP!!

Hey guys,

I have been having problems with my ABS control unit on my Audi A6 2001 2.5 V6 lately. On the dash I am getting the 3 beeps with the Brakepad sign with ! sign and the ABS and the TCS lights come on. I got it diagnosed and the mechanic told me my ABS control unit is gone. Now I have the Bosch (5.3 I think) 8E0 614 111 AP or the 0265 220 622 but I am confused if I am limited to getting the same one again. I saw a 0265 220 621 on eBay and was wondering if that would work on the car or not.

Can anyone help me out as I am confused what to do as this problem is getting annoying?

Is the handbrake sign blinking as well?

if its not, i do not think your module is bad. if the triangle sign with the abs is on most likely its a brake light switch.

have someone hit the brake and look if the rear lights come on. if not there your problem.

Hey what codes would you need from the Engine? The ABS Module is 8E0 614 111 AP / 0265 220 622.

But this electrician came over and brought this Diagnostics Tool and he gave me this slip from the diagnostics. It said " 18057 P1649 Data Bus Powertrain: missing message from ABS ECU"

Can you make sense out of this? Thanks

If your ABS is bad, I had good luck with a ModuleMasters rebuild. There are other companies. You can drive the car while the ABS is being repaired.

I bought my 2005 A6 Quattro with 97k miles in Nov 2013 knowing the ABS Mod was bad and sent it to Module Masters to rebuild and have had no issues and have almost doubled the mileage since...

Default address - contact info

Hi ... I have been driving for a long time with this problem on my 2005 A6Q 3.2L - My understanding (and clearly on this forum it shows) is that this is common with our models...

Can you guys who used ModuleMasters give me their contact information? I was going to send the unit to CheapABS in Virginia. He seems like he is a good guy. What did it cost to have ModuleMasters do the work on your ABS unit?

Thanks guys.

ModuleMaster

I don't have my receipts handy at the moment but think it was around $300 to $350 for the module, I think you can send yours in or do a core swap on it. It was a year and half ago so I can't remember exactly... Sorry
