abs control unit ?'s
SO my lights are flashing, abs and brake, ive been told its the abs control unit from a few places. Since it is a control unit, does that mean that it is a computer thingy? also is it user replaceable, plus where is the best place to pick one up.. thanks all

<$300 if you DIY, which is pretty easy.
Check out www.ModuleMaster.com. They have a video clip that walks you through the process. You pull the module out, send it to them for repair and then re-install when you get it back. Your car is driveable while the module is out, you just don't have ABS (but you're there already).I think a repaired module is probably better than a new one. The wink link in the design is addressed.

I hate to see people pay the dealer >$1000 for this sort of thing.
If you do a search for ABS on the AudiWorld forum, there are some posts where people have actually pulled apart the control module to fix themselves. The pictures are pretty interesting, but I think the ModuleMaster approach is a good compromise.
In my case, Gavin couldn't fix my module. I was one of the rare cases they mention on the website. They refunded my money promply, though. I ended up buying a new control module from ECS Tuning for $500. Still better than the dealer, but they took forever to deliver it. I'll probably get another shot at ModuleMaster when this module craps out in anther 60,000 miles!
