Moving to much cooler weather...
I will be relocating to a much colder part of the country. Luckily, I will be there in the summer first so it won't be such a dramatic change - for both me and the car!
I am wondering if anyone has any tips about keeping the car running well and maintained under cold weather conditions - below freezing for months at a time.
1. Would it be beneficial to get an engine block heater?
2. What type of oil should I use for the winter?
3. Any other tips?
Thanks Audi folks -

Make sure your winshield washer solvent is rated for cold wheather. One headlamp washer cylinder later lesson learned. Also get your coolant tested to make sure its up to the task. It probably is but best bet is to be sure. You can even do it your self if you get one of those battery hydrometer/cooant testers. Its just a turky baster with ***** in it that tell you condition and stuff.
An engine block heater is overkill. Just use 0w30 or 0w40 oil and take it easy on the car untill the oil and coolant are up to temp.
