Advice on Staggered fitment on an A6
I recently purchased a 2001 A6 2.7 Turbo and went on line to find some wheels to upgrade (I know the front caliper is larger than normal and the wheels will clear them).
My question is regarding the staggard fitment of the wheels (The front are 19"x8.5" and the rear are 19"x9.5").
1. Will this effect the Quattro system?
2. What is the reccomended tire size?
Thank you for your help!

RE: Advice on Staggered fitment on an A6
1.) this will have no effect on your quattro whatsoever (i own a set of staggered hp evo 19x8.5/9.5)
2.) front = 245/35/19; rear = 275/30/19......will give your staggered wheels a very sporty look
the only downside to having staggered wheels is that when you get the tires rotated, you acutally have to have them take the tires off of the rims and flip them inside out, instead of just moving the whole tire/wheel unit around. most places charge you for mounting and balancing each tire when they have to do this (about $30-$40). not a big deal, but something to consider in your purchase.
on a side note i am selling my hp evos if you're interested. i bought some mtms to replace them

RE: Advice on Staggered fitment on an A6
just read something in another post that reminded me of something everyone w/ staggered wheels should be aware of. make sure all the tires are even in height (to put it simply), along with the wheels being the same size, in order not to disrupt the quarttro. the tire sizes mentioned in the previous post hold true to that, so there wont be any problems w/ that setup. but make sure that's confirmed before your purchase is made on other setups.
