I have a A6 TDI 2006MY. In the past few months the airconditioning has started blowing nice cooled air out of one vent and boiling hot air from another. This appears to occur mostly when the external temperature is greater than about 18 deg C. It appears to occur independently of the temperature or vent settings.

It's been to my independent Audi Specialist twice who replaced the air con compressor which I think was unrelated but has been unable to diagnose the fault.

Although I'm based in the UK and we're having a crap Summer it's pretty uncomfortable and I'd appreciate an opinion from anyone who may have seen a similar issue.

I wonder if there is some flap that is not engaging. If you are getting cool air then the compressor is working.

 

Ya.. sounds like a divertor flap is not working.. Dont know if its vacuum operated or electric, but mine are electric and I had to pull the dc motor and clean the brushes and the commutator.
