Air conditioning...PLEASE HELP
Okay, i know that this topic has been discussed before and have reaserched and read as much as I could. Unfortunately our search tool will not search any words(or abbreviations) that are three letters or less, so it sucks, no a-i-r or f-a-n etc... dumb
Anyways I was driving down the interstate with the air going when all of a sudden, the air goes from dry and cold to, kind of dank and room temp...but still blowing hard.
So after I got home I read up on it a little and connected the vag-com to my car and ran a fault code check...nothing. So i did the thing where it goes through and tests all components of the system and when it came to the magnetic clutch, nothing happened...
so is the clutch bad? or is it something preventing the clutch to engage...electrical?
Also the freon is at the full mark on my gauges
I have already checked all fuses and they are good...someone mentioned a service bulletin about the A/C system but never said what it said...
Please help, im suppiosed to drive to New York this weekend and its going to be HOT

Check your fuses.
Make sure you have enough freon. If it wasn't toggling from cold to warm you probably have enough.
Could be a relay or the pump. you need to check to see if the pump clutch is getting power and go from there.

Its that thingy on the dash that you use to increase and decrease the temp in the vehicle. According to the manual you can enter the diagnostic mode by pressing a few buttons
Get the manual -- it give you all kinds of info about how to diagnose problems like that.

hmm, same **** happend to me day ago. fck !!! 95F outside and i drive w/o AC.
Ok, try this.
Run the engine, turn temp level to low to turn on AC (no ECO mode). Pop the hood, and check AC pump and most important, look at the radiator electric FAN. Should blow air as well.
If don't, check if FAN work. There is harness under black cover, where is power steering fluid tank. Just lift that black plastic and FAN got fat harness with two wires. Unplug it, and put 12V from your battery to check FAN. If start blow air, problem gonna be somewhere else.

okay, here is what I've figured out.
With the vag-com I ran the program that runs all parts of the system individually, all parts worked except the compressor clutch.
So i decided to check all the connections with a multi-meter, the positive power wire checked out when the system was turned on.
The ground checks out too, however there is no connection between the one wire to the other...so im assuming that it's the coil? does that sound right?
thanks,
Dan

I actually just bought a used compressor off ebay...Im having it installed sometime this week.
I decided to get all the O-rings and gaskets needed for the job at my audi dealer and am having it done at my local mechanic (good mechanic).
the total will come to around $200 with everything, including parts and work.
