Default Air filter replacement

I'm wondering what is the extent of disassembling that should take place to get the air filter on 2003 A6 2.7 replaced?

I was able to open the air box (clams only)but did not proceed disconecting all fuel hoses and wires that prevent the box to get open.

Is this really necessary or there is a procedure that is less awkward?

Any drawing please?

(on my old 4000Q takes me more than 1h to replace the air filter and a week to get my fingers healed)

Any nints are greatly appreciated!

Nope there really isn't an easy way to replace that air filter. You got to do it the way you are going at it. Get the clips of and start disconnecting everything that is holding the top cover on. It's really not bad at all once you do it once.

If you have done it on your 2.8, then you are a seasoned pro. I have a 2004 4.2L, which was a big change from a 2000 Volvo. I opened the engine compartment and went[sm=WTFsgign.gif]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since then I have dropped a new filter and changed the plugs. I could get use to this Audi thing....

takes 10 minutes, I did not disconnect but nust moved the hoses/lines out of the way. The clip at thebottom of the air box is a Bitch, use an old hanger (wire type)

When I changed mine,I didn't disconnect everything cause that would of been hell. I just opened it up enough to slip the old one out and the new one it. While you're in there, stick a shop-vac hose in there to get any soit that settled down there.

I did the same thing, the hardest part was lining the air filter up to fit right.
