Dose the light come on and stay on or dose it just come on when the car is cold. I have seen several cars turn the air bag light on when the car is cold but it goes off in a matter of minutes this seems to be normal

Were going through a real cold snap right now, it is -26c (-35c with the wind) and yesterday the air bag light came on for a couple of minutes then would go off then on again.. eventully it did go off. I figured it was because of the cold.

hey guys my light was on too, but my car just needed a computer upgrade, which the dealer did no problem. it cost 175, but it was worth it. ALso, airbag modules are sold on the internet for cheap all the time.

My 2000 A6 has the same issue. Does anyone know the part number for a 2000 A6 air bag control module or where exactly it is in the car so I can find it myself?

My 2001 A6 2.8 airbag light came on. Fault codes indicated a bad control module. Dealer ordered a new one, installed it and same code came in, along with standard codes for any time you install a new control module.

Extras - this light came in when it was extremely cold but stayed in subsequently. They think that the replacement control module was bad. The code can't be cleared.

Why does the cold cause the light to come in and give this code??? Should I expect the next module to work???
