Alot of people having Vibration Problems?
I noticed alot of owners of A6 owners saying they are having vibration problems. So am I. I have a 1999 and i was wondering what can be done to correct this? Has anyone actually had this problem and how did you go about fixing this. Thanks!
If you read the responses, you would see that most answerssuggest a wheel balancing, especially if it seems to happen in one speed range. That would be the first thing to check.
I also now have a vibration around 100km/h and anything slower or faster it doesn't show up.
The problem is a tire bulge though in one of my rear tires. Check the easiest and cheapest things first like tire balancing and then work your way up to real big problems.

I agree with the above. I was having a really bad vibration at 55 mph and I took it in to have the wheels rotated and balanced and they found that my back passenger side tire had a huge bubble in it. I got two new tires, had them balanced and now it's good as new.
I would recommend taking it to have the tires checked and balanced.

I've had no problems with my P6s after 15k miles, other than hitting a pot hole in Detroit two winters agoand tearing one. I also only use them in the winter. On the other hand, my Coopers have been nothing but trouble and I finally confronted Discount Tire and they are replacing them with Continentals. They told me I should stay with OEM tires - and I pointed out that they recommended AND sold me the Coopers.
Look into the Conti's before you make your final decision.
