Default AM Radio won't work - '03 A6

My AM radio started to static intermittenly this summer, now it has gone out completely. The FM and CD player work fine. Anyone know where I can start looking. I'm assuming the antenna connection came off somewhere.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm assuming to start looking where the trunk meets the back window antenna, is this the right area?

anything I say would be a guess...

- There are two antenna connections on the radio.
- There is an antenna amp in the c-pillar near the rear window
- Bad radio?

I'll take a look at that. I'm assuming the radio is a bear to get out.

Thanks for your response m000035

To remove a double DIN Audi radio you need (4) removal tools. Insert in the slots at the corners of the DIN with the points (of the tools) to the outside of the radio. The tools will pull the catches in and will latch the tools in place when the catches are fully retracted.

I have the same problem with mine. Once I receive the Audi tools I bought on ebay ($5) I will remove and have a look. AM antennas are typically internal to the unit so I think we are SOL on finding an easy fix. BTW, make sure you have your code for your radio first before you remove it or you won't get it back to normal. Nice thing is that if the AM is screwed on it we can buy new ones on ebay for like $60 now.

Cheer!

Lot's of people, it's where all the good talk radio stations are, like ESPN and Fox News.
