annoying "check engine" light
Greetings,
I was wondering if there is a way, without going to the dealer, to disable that light. It goes on and off randomly and is apparently being triggered by air getting into the gas tank, which happens whenever I get gas. The dumb thing is useless because I don't pay any attention to it anymore, except for the orange light glaring on the instrument panel.
Thanks,
Barry

I'm sure you could buy the code reader diagnostic tool for that much or less lol and do it your self, I hear autozone do that free if your in the states, in the UK it costs £40 approx $60 so $150 is expensive to say the least
The reason the mechanic coulnt just tell you that is because there are a variety of places air could leak into the system. He could have told you the most likly cause is the gas cap. To be sure he would have to test the system.

No kiddin'! Jeez, maybe the mechanic with the 4 circles over his tit coulda shared that little item, instead of telling me he could do a diagnostic - for $150.
Thanks,
Barry
