Default Audi A6

Hi:

I am new here and would appreciate some advice from this knowledgeable forum. I am reseaching a dealer certified 06 A6 3.2 and @60000 km selling for $31k in Toronto with a 120k km/6yr warranty. Audi rides very nice however my questions are: is it overpriced and what maintenance costs are involved @ around 60-80k km - for example timing belt, trans oil, fluid flushes etc ? costs for say brakes replacements?

After driving Audi I cannot bring myself to look at other cars like VW, Accords etc.

Thanks

At 80,000 Km you should have no normal maintinance issues. You should be good to 120,000 Km, at which time you should expect to replace brakes.

Good luck,

Bob

If you'll have warranty (are you sure about it? what does exactly covers? - you have to read the fine print on exclusions) for another 60,000 kilometers, then that's pretty good. It probably is a decent deal (what: about 28-29,000 US dollars?) as compared to a brand new A6, even though for me sounds a bit high for a 4 yrs old car.

A brand new 2010 A4 starts at $ 31,450...
good luck

Thks for the replies.

I am currently talking about A4 2T new on lease. Being on a tight budget it seems affordable. These are priced around 41,000 (US 34K). Not a bad deal for a new one especially after lease I can buy back at residual value. A4s are economical, and handles very well & hope quattro is good on snow/ice.

Regards.

Can't comment on prices since it's different in Canada, but you will be very pleased with winter driving of either A4 or A6. I have 100+k of mostly winter driving on mine and it has been fantastic, esp when the roads are snowy or slushy. The extra weight helps keep it stable. The ABS has been helpful on ice, but nothing is great when the roads are slick. Make sure you get at least good all-seasons -- a winter tire, like Blizzaks, are reportedly the best. Finally, before you decide, compare the rear seat room between the two models. PS - I'm in Michigan and frequently drive in Ontario.
