Exclamation Audi A6 2.7T cought on fire!!!

I was started driving, as soon as i got i highway i saw check engine light blink, so i got off interstate and parked on near parking lot, to figure out whats wrong, as the car ran, i saw smoke coming out under hood. i turned the car off and had a galon of water, started pouring under hood on pasanger side where the smoke was comming out. i also had like 4 bottles of gatorade, it was also gone. i saw small flames in the area under car where cat. cont. is.
So, my question is! i have just libility on my car. its at 140k miles. will audi do anything about it?

, it did not burn down, but im assuming it will if i leave it running..

Sounds like your cat got overheated because of too much fuel -- ie the check engine light -- and you lit up the undercoating. Many vehicles have a heat shield to protect the vehicle from a hot cat.

I doubt if Audi will do anything for you...

I'll take any Audi over your Chrysler.

Keep in mind that he was still driving an audi not a chrysler, you Smartypants.

Smartypants! Ouch, now you've hurt my feelings.

AoA is not going to do anything for an engine fire unless you can prove it was due to some old TSBs for headlight harnesses or the knee bolster by the driver dashboard. So he's out of luck. And without collision/comprehensive, a fire loss gets him nothing. Tough spot.

I like to think of the Crossfire as a stealth Mercedes since it's all SLK320 underneath. Except for the SRT6, which is a good part AMG. Don't knock it until you drive one. And don't try to drive one in the winter -- they're a summer car. That's why I have two Audis.

For a summer car I'd like it to try it. But for a tough winter in Wyoming I'll still hang on to my Audi.

I feel sorry for the guy that his car caught on fire.

Cheers!

I thought that your being called a Smartypants was a compliment! He could have said Dirtypants, Undiepants, or even Chryslerpants, but he said you were smart.

Not bad considering where you live!
