Hey guys I just bought a european navigation plus (not the latest widescreenone.. this is the one with the square screen).. How do I convert it to U.S.? Just changing the navigation cd for a U.S. one? here is the link:

go here http://www.navplus.us/forums/showthread.php?t=1264 this is the site that i get all my info from. it took me a few tries and wasted to a few cds to finally get mine to change to US version. I think i still have the cd that I made to change it to US version.

by the way the unit you bought is the older one that use set of CDs. So ignore my last post, it's only works for RNS-e, which uses DVD.

Firstly, forget the 'it takes 5 mins to install' that the seller wrote in the description. It took me 7 hours but mostof that was replacing the centre console for a double DIN version, as my car had a single DIN console. Assuming you have a double DIN, you'll need around 1 hour to fit and route the GPS antennae and slot in the Nav+. Then you'll get an error in German about the security code when you first power it up, as you need to run +12V to one of the pins that isn't connected up on the standard radio. You may or may not need to connect it to a VAG-COM to enable the correct area and configure it to the car.
For converting to USA, you should probably get a firmware upgrade disk, you can find and downloadthese with Google.
Finally, I never got my unit to recognise an Australian CD, it only ever worked with the UK disk that came with it, it would not recognise the firmware disks I used to try and upgrade it.
I sold the car with the thing operating as a glorified radio.
