Could someone please tell me the proper oil capacity of an 2.7t motor. I just went to change my oil and there is no way my owners manual is correct. I put 6 quarts in there and it was still low. I added a 7th and it still seems a little low. Any help would be great!

I think it is 7.5 quarts. Yes, the owners manual is correct. Audi's have deep sumps. Advice: run Amsoil and change less often.

I would run synthetic blend in a 2.7t rather than straight synthetic, reason being with straight synthetic the turbos tend to start seeping oil. You should have to add a little over 7 quarts with a fluid and filter change.

I have an '01 2.7 and have changed my oil/filter every 5-6k miles using AMSoil Syn - I found out it takes actually about 7.6-7.7 quarts after running for 5 mins after the change to sit at the level I like and feel comfortable with (almost perfectly center of the dipstick measure). 2.7's are HOGS
Hope this helps Robert (P.s. the owner's manual is WRONG (I think it states 6.8?) but I was even told this by the previous owner when I bought the car and thank goodness he did tell me!)

I just put in Rotella-T Shell Synthetic 5W40 in my 2001 2.7T with 91000 miles... it took about 7.6 Quarts... and it is a little above full. BTW guys great oil love it more than my Mobile 1 0W40... real up a lot on the bobistheoilguy.com about it and decided to try.. all the valve ticking and noises are gone.. the car loves the oil... I keep my oil for 10,000 miles.. and the car used to run rough after about 6-8K miles.. .. lets see how this one holds up...
