ok as i was checking my car before i went on a road trip i noticed a tan sensor located close to the coolant bottle. i looked for the other piece t see if i could connect them back together but i didnt find the other piece i dont kno wat that sensor or connection does can sombody help me//??

 

This sounds obvious, but could it be the coolant level sensor that plug in to the underside of the cooland reservoir?

I think mine is black, but I have a 2000 A6 2.7t.

 

thanks for the reply. but it cant b the coolant beacuse the coolants does have a sensor connected to it. i also have a 2000 a6 2.7 as well

 

The coolant resevoir should have a sensor plugged into the bottom of the tank. I don't think its the coolant sensor though. A tan sensor... one of the EGTs is brown, maybe it faded.
