I bought an Audi A6 2.4 start of the year and have since topped up the coolant fairly regularly.

I would say I have used around four/five litres and travelled 3000 km. Also, I live in Sweden so it's been a cold Winter until now. Is this normal usage or signs of a problem ??

Occasionally I notice a wet patch below the car, is this coolant?

That is not normal and indicates that yu have a lead somewhere.
The first place I would check in just under the coolant tank in the engine compartment. Feel for wetness after the car has been driven (watch out... may be hot!). Cahcek all visible hoses.
Another place is at the back of the engine but you need to lift the car up and crawl under to check (please use jackstands!).

You should see virtually no coolant usage as it is a closed circuit.
On most of my vehicles I never had to top off with coolant between flushes.
