Audi A6 4.2 P1640 Fault
I am having problems starting my Audi up every morning. In order for it not to stall on me, I have to give it gas and am usually able to hold it at 3 to 4rpms for about 3 to 5 seconds until its ready to warm up on its own. For the rest of the day for an additional 8 hours or more it will start up without any problem.
I had my computer checked and am getting this fault:
Address 01: Engine Labels: None
Part No: 4D0 907 558 S
Component: 4.2L V8/5V G 0006
Coding: 06652
Shop #: WSC 77879
1 Fault Found:
18048 - Internal Control Module: EEPROM Error
P1640 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Readiness: 0000 0000
After googling this its either because my Audi was chipped by Unitronic or my internal control module went bad.
Has anyone ever gone through this and have any insight or suggestions???

hmm. I am not really sure about this one man, I have never had that issue (knocks on wood) BUt if you haven't found it out yet, then try checking in at audizine forums, someone may be able to help you over there

I'm not an expert but it sounds like the programmable part of the chip needs work. Take a look at your battery condition as part of your checks. A weak battery can sometimes cause EEPROM errors. You will probably need to reflash the EEPROM in the least.
