to reall the situation:

I purchased a 00 a6 2.7 on 3/31 and within 10 minutes it cause fire. I found out through you guys here that there was a recall and did some searching and found
found a couple of reports.

I just got word on the 25th, after Audi inspected the car, that they were going to cover the full cost of the car and any related expenses that I have related to that.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the information... it basically saved me from claiming insurance on the car and loosing some money



But on another note... I really loved that A6, so I am proabably going to look at another one.... Any thoughts?

you know the only thing that bothers me about the 4.2 is the gas mileage. With respect to that I would like to remain somewhat economical.

 

That's true. Mines parked every day except Saturdays and Sundays, so it doesn't kill me too much. LOL. Gotta love the power though.

 

I do wish I had that ability... but this is going to be my daily driver so I think being conservative on that note is probably best...
plus I do intend on modding it so no matter what I do I am going to lower the mpg regardless, so I would like to start out higher

 

They always cover it. There is 0 chance they could win a court battle so they just settle.
