I bought an uncut key fob from ebay for about $30. The Audi dealership's machine couldn't cut the metal on the blade. It broke two of their bits. The replaced the blade end of the fob, cut it, and programmed it for about $45. So I got a new key fob for around $75. Much better than the $286 + tax that they were gonna charge me. Good Luck.

 

For a new key your looking at $70.00 plus $70.00 for program =$140.00.... or $230.00 for a nice key and $70.00 for program = $300.00... I would say don't lose your key or do the ebay thing!
