Audi Music Interface

Audi Music Interface
Hey folks, I'm new here and I just purchased a smokin 2007 A6 Quattro. I love it.
However
The Audi Music Interface is not present, so no go on the whole iPod thing. I'm assuming this is a dealer-only gadget. So my question is, can I waltz into any Audi dealership and grab one and pay through the nose to have someone there install it there on site--thus having the work warrantied by Audi?
It'd be awesome if I could grab it online somewhere, but save for the cable, that does not seem to be the case.
Cheers.

RE: Audi Music Interface
Well I got it with 18K miles on it as a lease return for 31.6K, so I'm certainly not complaining.
I understand through cruising other Audi forums that there is an AMI retro fit available from Audi, so I'll have to look into that.
Hopefully that won't be 1200.00. That's just asinine. Buying the Denison Gateway 500 (which has an enormous amount of functionality at the cost of what looks to be a hassle to install) is less than that.

RE: Audi Music Interface
I stopped by the Audi dealer in Westlake on the way in this morning.
From what I was told, the AMI is actually kinda crappy as it doesn't truly read the iPod's playlist, etc, and a third party solution is probably the way to go.
I was also told that since I have the CD changer that the iPod integration can't happen as the stereo has but one RCA input, which seems ofdd since it is accomodating the CD changer and the Sirius receiver.
Nevertheless, it's taken a left turn to Hassletown, Arizona, and I really don't need to go there.
Audi, here's a tip:
USB ports or an inegrated HD to which one can upload digital music files, all visible through the MMI.
All 21st Century-like.
