When going into 2nd or 3rd gear sometimes it goes in with a pronounced thump. The gearbox oil has been changed with no improvement. It some times appears to be changing up too soon.
There is no noticeable problem using the Tiptronic.
Any suggestions as to the reason would be greatly appreciated.

So when in tip mode there is no thump? You might start small and check the motor and tranny mounts, they could be ripped and allowing the driveline to buck.
